Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility. Here are a few ways The Original Pancake House is contributing:

• We are participants in a recycling program that converts our used vegetable shortening into a renewable source of energy, used to operate maintenance equipment
• Napkins and paper towels are made of recycled paper
• Compact fluorescents replace incandescent bulbs wherever possible
• Water is served on request only
• There are no placemats on tables
• We use the most environmentally-friendly dishwashers available with special water-efficient spray arms
• Water-saving fixtures have been installed in the restrooms
• We have eliminated the use of Styrofoam cups
• Where possible, we compost our leftover food and waste to reduce the volume of garbage in our landfill sites
• We are participants in Manitoba Hydro’s “Power Smart” program
• We now recycle plastic containers, aluminum cans, glass,
