Find out what’s new at OPH!

To our Valued Customers

After 63 years, we have decided to close our iconic Pembina location.  The Original Pancake House has enjoyed being part of the Fort Garry community and we are excited for the new amenities coming to the neighborhood. We invite our loyal customers to continue to visit us at our nearby McGillivray location, at the Clarion Hotel (Polo Park) or in the Forks Market. You may even recognize one of your favourite servers from Pembina! We look forward to providing the same great experience at these three locations while exploring new opportunities for growth.

Robert Walker

In Memoriam

We very much regret to announce the recent untimely passing of Robert Walker, our General Manager for the past 9 years. Rob was a very experienced, extremely well-liked and appreciated executive who helped guide us through a growth phase including the opening of The Original Pancake House on McGillivray, redecorating of the other three stores, implementation of a POS system and development of new, exciting menu items. Rob, known as the “gentle giant”, was equally at home bringing new cooks up to speed in the kitchen or crunching out numbers on a spreadsheet. His personality and expertise were recognized by his colleagues when he was chosen as Executive Chair of the Manitoba Restaurant Association, a position he held since 2015. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his dog Kongo, reading historical novels, watching Netflix movies and playing tournament billiards in Las Vegas. Rob will be missed by the entire Pancake House family.
